Article Draft Pamela
Pamela is the new and upcoming vocalist collaborating with CAMO; we managed to keep her from her busy schedule for a couple drinks and to see how she is! We caught up with her in Camden in the VIP bar; the stylish and sleek bar filled with producers and artists just taking a time out.
Pamela, so glad to finally being able to meet you, how have you been?
It’s nice to meet you DUB-BASSERS too, love your magazine and I’m glad I was able to squeeze you guys in! I have been great thanks just busy busy busy with all the different recordings, gigs and events I got to go to! But I’m absolutely loving life at the moment it’s so fast pace and everyday is new to me!
We could imagine, where you off to after this interview in your sleek dress?
I have to go do some recordings with a new producer, I can’t say who though its exclusive and you lucky people at DUB-Bass may be lucky enough to get a sneak preview soon! There so many things to do and so little time! Sometimes I wish I could just like disappear and go to my own world and chill like I used to not that I don’t love making music and meeting amazing people everyday.
Hardworking seems to be part of the job then! Who has been your upmost favourite producer you have worked with so far?
Ahh this is a hard one, there is so much talent in the industry and different sorts of music but of course I have to enjoy working with CAMO, I’ve known him the longest and I remember when he was the one who got me into singing! He is such a sweetheart and Im comfortable around him!
Yours and CAMO’s single is out soon isn’t it?! And what have you two got planned to celebrate?
We have a secret rave that we are going to so we can just get trashed and have lots of missing memories! Its to make up for all the time missing out partying with our friends and family! But on the more professional side me and CAMO are performing at Camden’s BarFly as this is where we first started up and got recognised!
How long have you been singing?
I’ve always just sung to myself in the shower but never in public had I thought I sounded terrible! But one day CAMO actually heard me singing whilst I was in the shower and just persuaded me to start singing, I was hesitant at first but then I grew to love it and now 4 hard years on were now reaching an audience!
Sounds like a lot of hard work! What reactions are you getting in the public now?
When I first started out I was able to walk down the busiest road for example oxford street and maybe get one or two people recognise me but not enough to stop me in my tracks but now If I walk down oxford street I constantly get people asking for pictures and autographs so I sometimes wear a hat and glasses to hide myself! I love my fans but when I want to just go out and shop, I just want to shop. A lot of the time I get mixed reactions some people absolutely love the music im into whilst others, they like to boo at me but I suppose that’s just life, some people don’t like who you are or style or type of music your into but the way I think of it is, WHO GIVES A DAMN, I like to think to be myself.
That’s what we like to hear! Someone as confident and feisty as you has to be a role model to someone! Who does it feel that you may be inspiring people to produce music?
I wouldn’t say im inspiring them or being a role model, Im not that big yet, but to think of it is amazing, I’ve been through so much ups and downs and finally being able to get to there I want to be makes me appreciate every moment I get, so the tips I would give new vocalists and producers is to work HARD if you don’t work hard you wont get to the places you want to be, and also have your friends close around you without them you wont be able to make it through as it’s a tough road and you need every support you can get.
And you definitely deserve the rewards you’re getting, how does it feel to be headlining BESTIVAL?
Words honestly can’t describe how it felt to get that spot; I still have the butterflies now! Its truly the best thing the ever happened to me, I remember merely 2 years ago I was standing in the crowd dancing to the artists and producers that kept me going in my days and now that im headlining, wow. But now im just worried that when I step on that stage I won’t be able to sing!
That will not happen we assure you, when your on stage we all go mental and partly because of the styles you’re wearing! So extravagant so bold! Do you have a stylist or is it your on thinking?
Im being honest now I just pick out whatever I think looks good and comfortable! I have to be able to move around on stage and I can’t be overheated! And to be fair I sometimes steal my looks off the unique and sexy looks off the girls in the crowd! They just catch my eye when Im performing and I basically take a mental picture and remember it when Im looking for my next outfit! So I owe my style to my fans!
Its been so nice to catch-up with your Pamela, I hope your recording goes well and we wish you the best of luck in the future!
Thanks and It was great seeing you guys too! And I will be in contact with you soon enough to give you some exclusives and let you know what’s coming up! Catch you later!
I just wrote a draft for one of my articles in my magazine, I feel it will need improving and have more structure to it, I will have to research more examples of articles and see what to write about! But I think this article is relevant and would be decent for my magazine.
